Why hire a bridal artist?

Thinking about your hair or makeup for your BIG SPECIAL DAY…. let me tell you why it’s important as a bride to hire a Hair and Makeup Artist.

BE A STRESS FREE BRIDE! With all the people and all the commotion going on around you the last thing you want to worry about is if your liner is on straight or did you properly contour your face the way the right way! Plus, your nerves can get in the way leading to disaster. Hiring a Makeup Artist will allow you to sit back, relax and let someone else pamper you on your special day, get the job done in a timely manner and you will look just the way you envisioned.

Having a Makeup Artist doing all the girls makeup keeps everyone looking uniformed. They will look different but all have that uniformed finish. A makeup artist knows how to bring out your best features.  Highlighting and contouring in the wrong places can accentuate the wrong things, while highlighting and contouring in the right places will make you look your best. A hairstylist and makeup artist uses the right products and techniques to make your hair and makeup last ALL day.  It's one thing to look great when you leave your house that morning, it's another thing to still look great when you make your grand exit that night! Professional makeup, hair tools and experience will all help you to look picture perfect all day long.

In addition, professional makeup artists participate in extensive makeup education beyond the completion of their cosmetology schooling. Makeup artists are trained in skin care (skin type, common skin problems and skin conditions), HD makeup, airbrush makeup, lighting concerns and professional beauty products. They keep up to date with the newest professional beauty products, and current trends. In addition, they are trained to know the tricks of the trade that will enable you to maintain a flawless appearance on your wedding day. A makeup artist knows how to style for photographs.  Every day makeup looks great in person, but there are a lot of different techniques when it comes to photos.

My team also provides convenient on-location services for your wedding day. The bride’s time is a primary factor to consider on the wedding day. Salon services can be quite a distance from the venue location. Salons often run behind schedule and since your appointment will be booked in addition to the salon’s regular clientele, bridal services may not be concluded in a timely manner, potentially putting the bridal party behind schedule. As stated previously, a bride’s time is valuable and her time should be spent concentrating on herself, the details of her wedding day, and her special guests.

A good hairstylist will make your hairstyle look good from EVERY angle the camera captures.  It's easy to do your own hair and make it look good from the front or the back, but there is no telling what angles the photographer will capture.  A professional will know how to make your hairstyle look balanced, full and flattering from the front, back, sides, top, whatever angle the camera captures. A hairstylist knows how to make the most of your hair type.  A lot of brides come to me saying "I don't know what you can do with this fine, thin hair" or "I don't know what you can do with this massive mane I have".  You would be amazed what a hairstylist can do with your hair!  Having experience with so many hair types, they will make your fine hair look full and your thick hair look proportionate.  It's not uncommon to have a bride leave saying "I didn't know my hair could do that!"

You want to look camera ready! As a professional make up artist I have worked on set of countless HD photo shoots as well as several magazine shoots. Did you know certain products can make you look too flat (2-dimensional) or too shiny in all the wrong places? A Makeup Artist like myself has been trained on proper products and application for photo perfect makeup. You do not want to appear an unusual color (like orange or gray) have too shiny of a face, over or underdone makeup.

The chances are, you are paying big bucks for a photographer to capture stunning shots of your wedding day. You want to look and feel amazing, not only because it is your wedding day, you also want the confidence to rock your wedding day look that will be captured in your photos. After the wedding is all said and done, you will walk away with beautiful memories to hang on your wall, so you want to make sure you feel absolutely gorgeous. By hiring a professional hair and makeup stylist, who has experience in weddings, you can feel confident that your makeup will be picture perfect and last throughout the whole day.

Airbrush vs Regular foundation

Our team carries a variety of foundation lines that are, high quality, water proof, paraben free, and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin. We stand by lines formulated for HD use and perfect for photographing flawlessly and lasting long under hot lights on set or hot summer days. We love the flexibility of buildable coverage allowing us to create as sheer or as full coverage according to the clients needs while allowing the skin to breathe. Airbrush is an aerosol type foundation that gives a sheer natural finish, while also diminishing fine lines, pores, blemishes an discoloration. My only precaution is if you have a lot of peach fuzz it will accentuate this, and can cause a cakey appearance. They are both great options, its really just a matter of preference. I keep both in my kit, because clients sometimes prefer one over the other. Since they are both high end brands there is no price difference.
